is vizio a good brand for lcd tv’s?

we will be buying a flat screen tv and i heard to stay away from the off brands but i was suprised when the salesman at walmart actually suggested we buy one. does anyone know anything about the overall value of these TVS and are they any good or not? thanks.

We have a 36″ Sony Bravia, and we have been very happy with it. We want a larger one, up to 52″. Any recommendations are appreciated. For your information, we typically watch movies on DVD (HD), watch regular TV, and occasionally hook up the computer or the PS for some light gaming.
