whats the best hookup to use from hd dvd recorder to hd plasma?
September 20th, 2009 Posted by: admin
hi i am wondering what would be the best way to hook up my hd 42″ samsung plasma tv to my hd lg dvd recorder 5.1 cinema surround sound system.should i use the thick scart cable provided because i know i will get that lovely 5.1 channel surround sound or invest in a hdmi cable, will the hd cable still carry the 5.1 sound i love or is that just for a better picture?or go for comps?have heard hd cables are good but do not want to lose the 5.1 sound.also will i be able to hook up another dvd player to my lg dvd recorder and and make backup copies of my original dvds,if so what cables will i need?any advice would be great on both questions, thanks

Panasonic Plasma Flat screen TV issue?
July 29th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I just got a 50 inch plasma flat screen TV 8 weeks ago (only been used now for 4 weeks) and today it started having lil lines across it (static looking lines) & the screen jumps slightly. I called the store I bought it from & if not for my extended warr. I bought, I’d be outta luck. The mgr was shocked that the TV was doing this, especially cuz it’s Panasonic. What would make a TV do this??
George : the stinkin store told me that cuz it is after 30 days, I have to use the warr. I bought. If I did not buy that warr. I would be stuck w/the TV the way it is…………CRAZY, right. This is Circuit City too!!!!
EDIT:addL info: THANK YOU 4 helping!!
Model No: TH-50PX75U
Just started doing this - only had TV for 4 weeks- Bought brand new
I was watching a DVD when it first started. I thought my DVD player was going bad, so I then turned that off & put the input back to my satellite TV(directv) & it still did it. The lines are whitish colored & move around. Kinda like when there is interferance with another object. Also the picture on the screen was slightly jumping. I mean, like rapidly moving a quarter inch up & down occasionally. But the white lines that looked like static ran across the screen in random locations. We have it plugged into a really expensive surge prot. We also checked all the cables again (HDMI) to be sure we were still attached & all was good. It did this on all channels. What is strange is I was scheduling for the warr. co. to send the service guy out & the next day, the TV did not do this. It has been fine the past 2 days.
I am afraid however, it’s the start to a problem we may encounter down the road. Any help or thoughts you have are appreciated!! Thanks a bunch!! =)

How to watch digital content (divx, mpg, avi, etc) on analogue TV?
April 30th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I have digital content on my notebook: movies (divx, mpg, avi, other).
1 CommentIs it possible to watch these on an analogue tv instead of the notebook itself?
If so, how? Which cards and cables are required?
Do the above formats have to be converted?
What is the picture quality (output) like?

Getting the best out of my HDTV?
April 29th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I have a 52″ Rear Projection RCA HDTV. I bought it a few months back. I don’t know much about HD, it seems really confusing to me (I’m not really smart with TV’s and whatnot). I want to get the best I can get out of this TV input wise. For example, I own a PS3 and Xbox 360. What is the best kind of cables to use to hook those systems up to the TV I have. By the way. Here’s a link to the TV.

Anywho. I need to know the best things to use to get the best picture I can obtain with those systems and that TV. Tell me anything and everything. Regaurdless of price, I want to learn something here. Thanks.
Does that TV have HDMI input? I don’t see it
